Besides the dead silence, there wasn’t anything left between them after she had snapped their connection. Yet, after a few short weeks (which felt much longer) the offer of friendship seemed like the next logical move.
On an impulse, she had sent him a text message suggesting friendship. There wasn’t any concealed motive behind her suggestion.
Still her text, ‘Let’s give friendship a shot’, was also met with no reply like many of her other texts.
She felt humiliated how her sincere offer was viewed as a desperate attempt to be a cling-on.
After consciously reading her mind for long she figured why the suggestion stemmed.
It came from the time when she only wanted to be friends with him before he compelled her to dive into the ocean of passion. Perhaps, it was also an attempt to lessen the pain of parting.
Now, it seems that his not responding to her suggestion was a good stroke of luck.
