She woke up to a notification and groggily opened the chat to find her old high school picture shared on her school group. This evoked the thought of how she kept outgrowing people – both consciously and unconsciously, while being caught up in her personal growth.
She had been a mute spectator on the group since it was formed a week ago. On a closer look she saw some faces with faint recollection but barely remembered anyone’s name let alone the time they all had studied together.
She mulled over the uncomfortable reality about how at different stages she ceased connecting with people who featured in her close circle at one point of time.
She had crossed paths with many with whom she didn’t vibe anymore.
With time she evolved as a person which made it harder for some people to relate to her too. Rather than bargaining with herself she decided to surpass them.
These reeling thoughts compelled her to look at the raw truth of her bond with him. Her headspace was full of clarifications on how not everyone is around for a long haul in our life.
With a deep breath she wondered, should she give him the benefit of doubt too?
After all, just as she may outgrow some, some may outgrow her too.
