With her impeccable exterior, rocking career, affectionate family, buzzing social circle and supposedly flawless love life, it looked like she had it all. With her chic personality and politically correct approach, she had rarely locked horns with anyone and usually featured in people’s good books. She was living the life that many wished to live.
Her forever balanced demeanour and stress-free look ensured that her ‘have it all together’ appearance stays intact. This had made some envious and some were inspired to be like her.
One closer look in the mirror made her sadly smile thinking about the hefty price she is paying for putting up the façade. There were days when she felt that every fibre of her body is soaked in pain, but her conduct said otherwise.
This distortion wasn’t an attempt to prove anything to anyone but to herself that no matter what, she can keep it all together. It was an attempt to not let one skewed phase of her life spill over to the other.
More than a façade it was her defence mechanism for her otherwise picture-perfect life.
Having said that she was wondering, what if she let her defective love life be out in public, letting everyone know how miserably she had failed, even if it came at the cost of denting the image of her perfect life. “I haven’t got it all and I don’t care. After all, imperfections make us beautifully real,” she said while heaving a sigh of relief.
